I have myelofibrosis with JAK2 mutation (JAK2 gene missing). Because of this, I was afraid the drug Jakafi (a JAK2 inhibitor) would not be effective in reducing the symptoms of myelofibrosis. I called Incyte, the company manufacturing Jakafi, and was informed the drug is for all patients with myelofibrosis, with and without JAK2 mutation. Hopefully Jakafi will improve quality of life for all who live with myelofibrosis. You are in my prayers.

Thank you for sharing your findings and information. You too are in my prayers. I will email you and we can compare notes on all of this. As you know my "myelofibrosis is now catagorized as CMML, however I just don't want to accept labels tho' I do know more information is important. Lets talk about the JAK2 mutation and our options.
